AI for short marketing and training videos

Use AI for the slow parts of video: drafting the script, cutting raw clips, removing pauses, adding captions and resizing for each platform. For staff training, AI avatar tools can turn a written procedure into a short presenter video. In marketing, keep real people and real products on screen where you can, label AI-generated people clearly and check the Greek voice quality.

The problem today

Short video works on every channel, but filming and editing take hours a small team does not have, so videos rarely get made. Large brands and manufacturers already use AI to produce product clips and training videos in many versions. For an SME, the affordable version is phone footage plus AI editing tools, and simple avatar videos for internal training.

How it works, in plain words

Think of it as an editing assistant who does the slow, repetitive work on your clips, so you can spend your time on what you show and say.

  1. What goes in: a product sheet or written procedure, raw phone footage of real people and products, and your logo and brand colors.

  2. What the AI does: it drafts a short script, cuts pauses and filler words, adds captions and resizes for each platform. For training, it can turn a script into an avatar presenter video.

  3. What a person checks: someone reads the script aloud, checks facts and prices, listens to any Greek AI voice and makes sure AI-generated people are clearly labeled.

  4. What comes out: ready-to-post clips for social media and short training videos your staff can watch on their phones.

It will not make a weak idea interesting, and avatars rarely replace real people when trust matters.

How it could work for businesses like yours

Illustrative examples, not client case studies.

A 12-person natural cosmetics e-shop in Peristeri

It posts product photos but almost no video, because editing takes too long. The team would film a weekly 30-second "how to use it" clip on a phone, let AI cut pauses and add captions, and resize it for Reels and TikTok. They would track production time per clip and compare product page visits from video posts and photo posts.

A 3-person marketing team at a 120-person food manufacturer in Thiva

New production staff learn hygiene rules from a long printed manual. The team would turn each procedure into a two-minute avatar video in Greek, checked by the quality manager, and use real footage for anything shown on the production line. A realistic first target could be shorter onboarding for new shifts, checked with a short quiz.

A 30-person courier company in Aspropyrgos

Drivers keep asking the same questions about scanning, proof of delivery and damaged parcels. The company would film a supervisor showing each step, use AI to edit and caption the clips and share them in the drivers' group chat. It would measure repeat questions to the office and delivery errors over the first months.

How to do it, step by step

  1. Pick one repeatable format. For example a 30-second product tip, a weekly offer or a 2-minute "how we do it" training clip. One clear format is easier to improve than many one-offs.

  2. Draft the script with AI. Give it the product sheet or the written procedure and ask for a script with a hook in the first three seconds, short sentences and a clear ending. Read it aloud and cut what sounds unnatural.

  3. Film simply, edit with AI. Record on a phone in good light. Let the editing tool remove silences and filler words, add captions and resize to vertical and square.

  4. Use avatars mainly for training. AI presenter videos suit internal procedures, safety rules and onboarding. For marketing, real staff and real products usually feel more trustworthy.

  5. Check before publishing. Watch every video in full and check facts, prices, Greek pronunciation, product names and on-screen text. Label AI-generated people or voices clearly.

  6. Measure for one month. Compare production time and views or completion rate with your earlier videos, then keep the format that works.

Tools to consider

  • CapCut: quick editing with auto captions, templates and vertical resizing, popular for social video. Caveat: read its terms on content rights and data, especially for business use.

  • Descript: edit video by editing the transcript, and remove filler words and pauses in a few clicks. Caveat: its transcription is strongest in English, so test Greek carefully.

  • Synthesia: creates presenter videos from a script with AI avatars, useful for training content. Caveat: avatars can feel stiff, so check how natural the Greek voice sounds to your audience.

  • Canva (video): simple templates and AI tools for short branded clips. Caveat: fine for simple edits, but limited for longer or more complex videos.

Data protection and GDPR

Faces and voices in your videos are personal data. Get written consent from staff and customers who appear, and agree how long and where you will use the video. Cloning someone's voice or likeness needs their explicit agreement and a clear way to withdraw it. Under the EU AI Act, AI-generated or edited content that looks real, such as avatars or synthetic voices, must be disclosed; these transparency duties phase in through 2026–2027, so start labeling now. Also check the rights to music and footage. If in doubt, check with your DPO or legal advisor.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Using an AI avatar in customer-facing ads where a real person from your team would build more trust.

  • Publishing without listening to the Greek voice-over, so product or place names are mispronounced.

  • Filming staff or customers without written consent for how the video will be used.
